Story is My Thing

Many interests have captured my imagination over the years. Raising nice children, learning to paint, knitting with my mom— I even made socks! But nothing has compared to Story—which I think of as a study of the human condition.

Why do people do the things they do? That’s the writers are here to tell us. At least, they will ask the question.

In all my experience making movies with actors, directors, producers, and movie stars, the one group I love working with is the community of writers.

Helping a writer find their voice is an intimate and personal journey You can’t help but become friends with these people who share so much of their heart. And when it’s time to send the finished product out into the world of gatekeepers and agents and producers, I can’t help but fret as though my first child is going off to college.

No doubt about it, Story is my thing.
